Internal Audit Specialist Job Description

As the head of the internal audit department, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading internal auditors, organizing internal audits, and undertaking complex audits. They will also be responsible for proposing actions specific to sections or departments, and more general systemic improvements.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the profession, standards and practices, in addition to a sound experience in IT, risk management and reporting skills. They must also be able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Specific Duties

As an internal auditor for a specialist or technical area, you are responsible for providing audit services and suggesting improvements to processes and systems. 

You will draft reports detailing your findings and recommendations, which will be sent to senior management and the Audit Committee. 

It is also your responsibility to lead and develop the staff in your team, ensuring that audit service standards and capability are continually improved. 

When making recommendations, you should take into account your specialist or technical area-based conclusions.

General Requirements

The role of an Internal Audit Manager is to ensure that the organization’s internal audit operations are running smoothly and efficiently. They are responsible for overseeing a team of internal auditors and for developing and implementing policies and procedures. Additionally, the Internal Audit Manager plans and schedules the work of the internal audit teams and manages the internal audit budget.

Qualifications And Experience Required
